The day is not far off when Kejri will join BJP: Maken

Terming Shanti Bhushan’s statement that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was built to give clean people a chance but ticket distribution shows that Arvind Kejriwal only cares about winning, Congress spokesperson Ajay Maken demanded clarification from the AAP convener, who claims to be a crusader against corruption.

“It is sad that the party, which had come riding on the anti-corruption plank, had itself been mired in corrupt practices while distributing tickets to its candidates. If such candidates win the elections and become Ministers, their priority will be to first recover the money they had spent on buying tickets for themselves,” said Maken, adding that the day is not far away when Kejriwal will also pack up to join the ranks of the BJP.

He said social activist Anna Hazare’s disciples Kiran Bedi and Shazia Ilmi had already joined the saffron party. “Now you will see that some day he (Kejriwal) will also pack up to join the BJP,” Maken said, while reacting to former Union law Minister and senior AAP member Shanti Bhushan’s statement that the upstart had allegedly “sold tickets” for the Assembly elections in Delhi.

The Congress leader, who is also the Congress Campaign Committee chairman, said that the Bhushan’s statement has put a question mark over AAP’s claim that its ticket distribution process was “totally transparent.” “They had been claiming that they would get the feedback on their candidates first from their own grass roots workers. The charges levelled by Shanti Bhushan show how little democracy there is in AAP.”

Maken said it was high time for Kejriwal to reply these serious charges as he was not heading any NGO but was leading a political party and was the Chief Minister for 49 days as well. Asked for his comment on Kiran Bedi being his first choice for the CM post and Maken as the second, the Congress behemoth remained tightlipped.
