A teenager, who was missing since Thursday, was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a vacant flat of East Delhi Municipal Corporation in Nand Nagari area on Sunday evening. The body was hanging from the ceiling-fan hook. Police suspect he committed suicide. However, the family members of the victim alleged that their son was murdered and the body was dumped to give suicide angle.
Police said the body has been sent for the post-mortem and they were waiting for the report to ascertain the exact cause of death.
Nineteen-year-old Sonu, lived with his family in Shalimar Bagh Garden area in Ghaziabad. He is survived by his parents Ram Kishan and Rajni Devi, and two siblings. The police recovered his body from the vacant flat in Nand Nagari after the residents complained of a smell emanating from the house on Sunday, a police official said.
Prima facie it was found that Sonu was addicted to drugs and alcohol. Sonu’s body was handed over to his family after the autopsy.
