An 18-year-old boy was found dead under mysterious circumstances at a DDA park in Northwest Delhi’s Adarsh Nagar area on Saturday night, police said on Sunday. According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Vijay.

Police said that the teenager had recently appeared for his class 12 board examinations and on Saturday, Vijay had gone out with his friends to have snacks. Vijay was killed while he was returning home.

A senior police officer said, “So far, family members claim that Vijay had no enemies. They suspect that the murder could be a robbery attempt gone wrong.”

Police said that they received a PCR call around 9pm on Saturday regarding a body of a young body lying inside a park. The body of the deceased was rushed to the mortuary of a nearby hospital.

In the meantime, unable to find their missing child, family members of Vijay had filed a missing complaint at the Adarsh Nagar police station. Police said that they received the PCR call about the body and the missing complaint at the same time after which they asked the family members to accompany them to the mortuary so that they can recognize the body of the young boy.

Police added that the family identified the deceased as Vijay and expressed their shock by saying that neither did Vijay ever have any arguments with anyone nor did he have any enemies. Shocked, the family claimed that they suspect someone must have tried to rob him off the cash that he was carrying and when he would have tried to resist, they would have attacked Vijay.
