A teenage boy was stabbed to death by a youth in Aman Vihar area of outer Delhi on Saturday around 8.30 pm over his alleged relationship with a girl, police said on Sunday.
There was a brawl between the deceased, identified as Sushil, and the accused, Sonu, over the issue, said police official, adding that Sonu was attracted towards the girl.
The situation took an ugly turn when Sushil went to Shri Santam Dharm temple in Inder Enclave Phass-II and it was here that Sonu's friends identified as Rahul, 23, and Bhura, 22, had a fight with Sushil.
During the fight, Rahul snatched a pair of scissors from the counter of a shop nearby and allegedly stabbed Sushil, a police officer said. As a result Sushil sustained deep wounds and he was rushed to a hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.
“After committing the crime, Rahul and Bhura fled from the spot to be arrested later for the murder,” said MN Tiwari, DCP of outer district.
The accused are local boys and work as Dhol players and the victim worked as a TV mechanic, said police.
The incident comes nearly a month after a 21-year-old woman was stabbed to death by her jilted lover in Delhi's Burari area.
