A 17-year-old boy slipped and drowned into the Jheel (Lake) on Wednesday at the Sanjay Van Lake situated at Vasant Kunj. The boy was later identified as a resident of the nearby Rana Colony.
“The boy tried to enter into the jheel and slipped and drowned. Even there is a sign board installed at the jheel which clearly states that, ‘warning. Water is very deep; do not try to enter into the jheel. Be safe from any mis-happening. But ignoring the warning, the boy made an attempt to enter into the lake,” said the Delhi Development Authority official.
The official further said that security guards have been deployed near the security of Sanjay Van. “We express our condolences to the aggrieved family and will provide necessary help to the family in all possible way,” added the official.
