Techie hit with brick in parking brawl in upscale Shahpur Jat

A 32-year-old HCl employee was allegedly knocked out with a brick by his neighbours and their relatives for objecting to parking of the car outside his house in South Delhi’s Shahpur Jat village late on Saturday. On returning home, Rajeev Pawar saw the car of his neighbour Ran Singh’s tenant parked on the way to his house and he asked Singh’s son to park it elsewhere. However, no one responded. Eventually, Pawar, along with his uncle Satbir, had to visit Singh’s house and asked them to move the car, which led to a brawl between the two families and Pawar was left badly injured.

According to police, “Pawar, in his complaint, had said that Ran Singh’s sons Swaran and lakkad, along with their relatives Chandra Bhan, alias Balli, started hurling bricks at him.” Meanwhile, a few neighbours rushed for help and a PCR call was made. Rajeev was immediately taken to the AIIMS Trauma Centre. He has received several injuries in his head, face and ribs. Singh and his son have been taken into custody, while a case has been lodged against them under Sections 323, 341, 506, 34 of Indian Penal Code (IPC). Police said that they were questioning other neighbours to ascertain the sequence of incident.
