Team set up to inspect disabled-friendly facilities in pvt schools

Following the information collected by the Directorate of Education (DoE) related to disabled-friendly facilities in schools, the Education department is making a team of inspectors, which will personally go and check facilities. Director Padmini Singla on Monday issued circulars in this regard.

The Education department has written letters to the Chairperson of the Rehabilitation Council of India, Chief Commissioner and Commissioner of Disabilities regarding the provision appointing trained experts to evaluate the availability of requisite facilities for disabled-children in private schools.

The same is being done keeping in mind the High Court’s order on November 18.

The High Court had asked private schools to give the details regarding the facilities they have for disabled children.

This information was duly submitted by the Directorate after which they are now directed to set up a team of experts who can go and inspect these schools who claim to have facilities.
