Electronic Ticketing Machines (ETM) is soon to be installed in DTC buses to make it convenient for public to switch between different modes of transport. The first phase of installation will be immediately started and all buses will have ETMs by April next year, said Transport Minister Gopal Rai.

The step is taken to create infrastructure for implementation of Common Mobility Cards valid for all modes of public transport.

Rai said after installing ETMs in all buses by April -May next year, the Government will move towards common mobility cards for travelling in both DTC, Cluster buses and Delhi Metro, which will be done on priority basis.

“The DTC will charge fares from passengers through ETMs in some of its buses on a trial-basis. Once ETMs are installed by April-May, the government will start working out a plan on a common mobility card that will be applicable in both DTC buses and Metro,” the Minister said.
