Two bike-borne assailants allegedly attacked Swaraj Party spokesperson Anupam with a sharp object late night on Friday and reportedly snatched his phone. Police revealed that five persons have been detained in this case.
The victim Anupam wrote the incident on his social media account and stated that late night on Friday, he was attacked by two unidentified men riding a bike.
“The whole incident happened so fast, I couldn’t react,” he wrote, adding, that the accused persons attacked him with a sharp object. They allegedly aimed straight for his eyes, but he was wearing spectacles. However, he received a cut on his face and started bleeding.
The accused persons then snatched his phone and fled the scene. “They only snatched my phone, so I found it very suspicious,” he wrote.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (southeast) Chinmoy Biswal said that five people are detained and they are being questioned.
