The 2G special court on Thursday reserved its order for July 23 on a plea by Janata Party chief Subramanian Swamy, who had sought summoning of a written statement given by former Telecom Minister A Raja to the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) on the scam.
The Janata Party chief also pressed for summoning of then Finance Ministry officials Sindhushree Khullar and Shyamala Shukla as witnesses to explain file notings of those meetings.
Special CBI Judge OP Saini concluded hearing arguments on Thursday, during which Swamy said Raja's statement to the JPC was an important document to reach at the truth and logical conclusion in the case. "Arguments on the application have been heard. Put up for order on July 23," the judge said.
Swamy also said Raja's statement was not a privileged or confidential document and can be summoned. He also claimed that examination of CBI witnesses was incomplete as they have not discussed the meetings which took place regarding allocation of 2G spectrum during Raja's tenure as Telecom Minister.
He added that Raja's statement speaks about various meetings that took place on allocation and pricing of spectrum.
