South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) on Wednesday organised a "Swachchhta Sankalp" to disseminate the message of Swachhta under 'Swachh Bharat Mission' especially on segregation of waste and open defecation.
The SDMC Mayor Kamaljeet Sehrawat said the garbage is an enemy of our country and we have to save our people from the affects of accumulation of garbage. The Mayor asked students and others to involve themselves in Swachhtta activities and make proper use of new toilets built in run up to declaration of all 104 wards of SDMC as ODF.
A senior SDMC official sid1,500 schoolchildren, 100s of RWA offices bearers and local citizens gathered in Swachhtta Sankalp programme to fillip Swachhtta related activities. "An appeal was also made to the citizens to make use of newly constructed toilets by SDMC. She also stated that the contribution of children in cleanliness will prove to be of paramount importance.
