AAP rebels protested the meeting venue and shouted anti-party slogans. A few suspended Aam Aadmi Party members said they were told about their suspension by a letter when they reached the venue. “The party was formed to fight corruption and support “Swaraj abhiyaan”. But now the AAP is digressing from these issues,” said one protesting activist.

However, AAP sources clarified that the protesters had been informed by letter about their suspension from the party for anti-party activities and that the protests were the outcome of anger and disappointment.

Addressing the meeting, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said conspiracy is going around AAP from the last three years.

Earlier, dissident AAP leader Shanti Bhushan had accused the AAP leadership of suspending over 40 members ahead of the National Council meeting on Monday.

“The meeting being held is patently illegal and full of mala fide intentions. We are members of National Council of AAP and also the founding members of the party. We have been observing the fall in morals and values of the party for a long time and have proofs of wrong-doing and illegal activities being executed by the party,” Shanti Bhushan said.
