Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Tuesday said onion rates in the Capital will further decline as the supply of the edible bulb is improving. “Onion prices have already come down. I am confident that it will fall further,” she said.
In view of the rising price of onion, the Delhi Government had taken a number of initiatives, including directly procuring the bulb from Maharashtra and Rajasthan, to stabilise prices. “We are moving from summer to winter vegetables. So there will be some alterations in their prices. But I am sure the rates will stabilise in the next couple of weeks.”
