Tenth class pass students on Thursday came to seek guidance from Delhi University higher officials for the stream selection so that they could have their preferred course for further studies at Delhi University.
According to DU officials, guidance at this stage is important in helping students get the desired stream in their higher education.
Guardians came along with the students and asked questions related to the choices and combinations of the subject. “Every day, we are reading about the deduction of marks because of stream change,” said Ayushi Verma. “Direction at this stage will help the students because the subject combination in Class XI advised by the professors will help students prepare for future,” Verma added.
Though DU professors were advising about the stream and how the choices of subjects can help further in admissions for all streams, queries related to opting the mathematics subjects was more common among the science students.
Mathematics in Class XII will open the door of admissions not only in Mathematics (Honours) course, but would also make it easier for the students who seek admissions in the science course.
Courses on Food Technology, BA (Honours) Economic, B.Com, B.Sc (Honours) Statics are course options for the students who have studied Mathematics. While in science courses, BSc ( Honours) Physics, BSc (Honours) Mathematical Science and Bsc (Applied Physics) are the courses which demand the base of Mathematics.
Also, students who study Mathematics will also have the option of Biochemistry, Bsc (Honours) life Science and B Sc (Computer Science).
