A student from Amity University, Noida, allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in his hostel room on the campus on Friday, said police, adding that deceased Sai Krishna Gandrath was a Post Graduate Diploma student.
Sai’s friends said it was around 2 pm when he didn’t join us for lunch, we got suspicious. “A friend went to see him in the room and found him hanging from the ceiling. We immediately rushed him to the hostel warden and alerted other hostellers. Sai was immediately rushed to the Kailash Hospital, Sector 27, Noida. He was declared brought dead,” said sources.
“We have formed a committee to investigate the incident,” said Savita Mehta, Vice-President, Communications, Amity University. Sai was a very bright student, she said.
