A six-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her stepfather at his employer’s house in South Delhi’s Saket area. The incident took place on Tuesday afternoon when the 40-year-old man, a resident of Khanpur area took the minor girl to his employer’s residence. After the minor girl returned, she was spotted vomitting outside her house by a neighbour. When the neighbour saw the girl bleeding from her private parts and vomitting, the neighbour approached the girl’s mother. However, similar to the Rohtak case where the mother of the ten-year-old girl wanted to protect her husband, mother of the six-year-old child too rebuked the neighbour. On Wednesday, the neighbor called the helpline of the Delhi Commission for Women. They further informed the police following which the man was arrested.
The incident comes to light a week after a ten-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by her stepfather in Haryana’s Rohtak area which had left her pregnant.
Police said that the mother of the victim had married the accused one year back. The mother is seven months pregnant. The accused had confessed to his crimes, said he was drunk when the incident happened.
“Initially, when the neighbor approached the minor girl, she had lied saying that she got hurt while she was playing but when the DCW intervened, the girl opened up and said that her father had sexually assaulted her and also beaten her up. Moreover, the step father had threatened to kill the girl if she spoke about the incident. Two members from DCW reached AIIMS to visit the victim. The doctors have taken the girl for an operation as her private parts were infected and full of pus.
“The father said that he did the gruesome act under the influence of alcohol. He is a care-taker of any empty house in Saket and had taken the minor to the house a couple of days back where he sexually assaulted her in a drunken state,” said a senior DCW official.
The girl has been admitted to AIIMS where she will undergo a surgery. The girl’s condition is very serious. Her private parts are infected with pus and according to the doctors she will have to undergo surgery. The team at DCW got the girl admitted to AIIMS. Taking note of the seriousness of the crime the judge appointed for this case reached AIIMS to record the minor’s statement.
