Prolonged police custody is taking a toll on Rajasthan Royals players, Shantakumaran Sreesanth and Ajit Chandila. The disgraced RR players, who were arrested along with Ankeet Chavan for spot-fixing, are under tremendous distress.
Sreesanth reportedly had a heated argument with Chandila after returning from court on Sunday evening, and he blamed him for inducing him into spot-fixing.
A senior official involved in the ongoing probe into said that both the arrested players had a heated argument inside the police vehicle, where Sreesanth abused and talked in a filthy language. The issue was immediately sorted out by the sleuths of the Special Cell. However, Chandila was fuming and was looking for an opportunity to get a one to one with Sreesanth. The police again questioned Sreesanth about his involvement into spot-fixing and also confronted him with his teammate, Chandila.
"They were confronted on Sunday evening, where Sreesanth again blamed and abused Chandila. The investigator had gone to another room to take some call detail records (CDR) list. Chandila lost his temper and also started abusing him in his local language," an officer added.
The incident came to light when Chandila started shouting at Sreesanth, while the fast bowler was accusing the leg spinner for dragging him into spot-fixing. Chandila was heading to hit Sreesanth, but he was stopped by the investigators and later was taken to another room.
On the first day, Sreesanth shared the cell with his teammates, but now he is alone. Secluded in the small cell, he mostly looks depressed and breaks down often during interrogation.
Earlier, the intense grilling by the sleuths of the Special Cell had left the RR speedster exhausted and drained out and during questioning, he had vomited as he was crying frequently.
Meanwhile, the Delhi Police was working out to see as to how much money was involved in the case. It was not possible to have any firm figure, but it must be running into hundreds of crores of rupees. Police was also focusing on completing the investigation as soon as possible and submit a chargesheet within 60 days.
