After facing rejection, a spurned lover allegedly stabbed a 24-year-old woman multiple times at her residence in the national Capital’s Chirag Dilli area. The incident occurred on Friday morning, police said.
The woman, identified as Pinky, a beautician by profession, was in a relationship with the accused Sunny. According to Vijay Kumar, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), South Delhi, a Police Control Room (PCR) call regarding the incident was received around 9.50 am on Friday following which an Emergency Response Vehicle (ERV) was dispatched for the spot.
“When the police reached the spot, they found the woman lying in the pool of blood and had multiple stab wounds. Sunny also had injury marks on his neck,” said the DCP.
“Both Pinkey and Sunny were rushed to the AIIMS. While Pinkey succumbed to her injuries, the accused is presently being treated at the hospital’s trauma centre,” said the DCP.
“During initial investigation, it was revealed that Pinkey moved into a rented house in Chirag Dilli with her husband and a son recently. On Friday, Sunny visited the victim’s residence when she was alone,” said the DCP.
“Pinkey allegedly told Sunny that she would not carry on with their relationship following which Sunny stabbed her multiple times. Police has registered a case and the knife, which was used to stab the victim, was recovered from the spot,” said the DCP adding that further investigation was on.
