Delhi Congress Committee president Ajay Maken said the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG), which has taken serious note of the Rs6,093.85 crore not spent and lapsed in the Delhi Budget for 2014-15. He advised the Delhi Government to spend the plan funds on time for the development of Delhi.

It may be mentioned  that if the CAG, in its report for the 2014-15 Budget in which the difference of BE (Budget estimates) and RE (revised estimates) was Rs1,976 crore, takes a serious view on the said amount  in the 2014-15 Delhi Budget, then the AAP Government had broken all records by spending Rs 3164 crore less in the Budget for the financial year 2015-16, which was a first in the history of Delhi. If it is compared to the Budgets of 2014-15 and 2015-16, then the amount of Rs1,200 crore was found to be more than the shortfall of the financial year 2014-156.

In the 2012-13 Budget, the difference of BE and RE was Rs1,176 crore, which was 3.52 per cent  while in 2013-14, the difference of BE and RE was Rs2,024.4 crore, which was 5.41 per cent  while in  2014-15, it was Rs1,976 crore, which was 5.37 per cent, but in 2015-16 all previous records were broken by the AAP Government when the difference was Rs3,164 crore, which was 7.69 per cent.
