Delhi Police have formed special teams to probe the brutal murder of 32-year-old AAP worker, Dhirendra Ishwar on Sunday night by unidentified persons.
Initial probe has hinted at a ‘hate crime’ as the killers had mutilated the genital of the deceased and had severed the head from the body. The body was recovered without the head. Police are also questioning one Shri Krishna, an AAP worker, who was last seen with Ishwar and checking his movements.
The viscera samples collected are also under analysis to find out if he died of blood loss from his body.
The incident came to light when Ishwar was found hacked to death and his private parts chopped off in Outer Delhi’s Begumpur Extension area on Monday morning. Ishwar was the AAP’s Delhi Pradesh Purvanchal Shakti Wing Secretary. His body was found 100 metre away from his new home in the area, on an isolated spot at around 6 AM, said DCP (Outer) Vikramjeet Singh.
Ishwar had left home around 3 PM on Sunday with Krishna for a meeting at Nangloi. The meeting was scheduled at 4 PM after which he had last spoken to his mother at around 7:15 PM and then his phone was switched off, said police.
“Krishna had taken him for the meeting. Once it ended, he had dropped Dhirendra at the intersection near Rohini sectors 23 and 24 at about 7 pm,” said a senior officer.
“The crime indicates a strong hatred towards Ishwar and it seems to be a case of personal enmity,” said the DCP.
