SP Marg sees plantation drive

Published on:

Thousands of citizen volunteers joined forces today to participate in a large-scale cleaning and plantation drive on a 3-kilometer stretch along SP Marg. This initiative came in response to Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena's recent visit to the area on June 17, during which he announced a comprehensive revamp plan for the Ridge along SP Marg and the Malcha Mahal. The enthusiastic volunteers, between Dhaulakuan and 11 Murti, actively contributed to the removal of solid waste and debris that had been strewn around the vicinity. They diligently cleared the ground and planted trees following a triple grid pattern. The selected tree species for this project included Gulmohar, Jacranda, Amaltash, and Chinar, strategically planted to optimise space utilisation.

The presence of Lieutenant Governor Saxena himself during the drive boosted morale among the volunteers, who were commended for their dedicated efforts.
