The Samajwadi Party (SP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are at loggerheads as both the parties are trying their best to control the annual festival of Ramlila in Ghaziabad’s Raj Nagar.
The BJP accused the SP for playing a trick to destabilise the party’s role over Ramlila Samiti after Samajwadi Party’s MlC Jitendra Yadav allegedly submitted a false affidavit before the deputy registrar to throw away BJP’s control over the samiti.
The BJP’s accusation came backed with a letter written by General Secretary Rakesh Mohan Singhal of Raj Nagar Ramlila Samiti to Deputy Registrar, firms and societies, stating that the renewal application of the Samiti sent by Jitendra Yadav is to create snags in the renewal of the existing Ramlila Samiti.
According to Rakesh Mohan’s letter, Yadav submitted a false affidavit by claiming himself as the General Secretary of the samiti. He also submitted renewal application on the basis of false affidavit and without obtaining signatures of the life members which is a criminal offense. He further said that renewal application submitted by Yadav deserves to be rejected.
He further added that other patrons of the samiti also forged with the affidavits including one Ram Gopal Kaushik, Rajesh Kansal Brij and Mohan Singhal. The three men were never elected for the year 2016-2017 in the organising committee, he said.
At present there are three president of Ramlila Samita: Rajendra Tyagi, Rakesh Mishra and Ram Gopal Kaushik.
Meanwhile, while defending himself Jitendra Yadav said, “Out of 15 founder members seven have died. Out of remaining eight members, seven have supported me. So we have elected the new body whom the deputy registrar has agreed. So there is no violation in any process.”
In the complaint to the Deputy Registrar, the existing General Secretary Singhal submitted that the renewal application submitted by him should be considered to be renewed. And the application submitted by Yadav should be rejected so that the Ramlila function can be arranged smoothly.
