Somnath Bharti uses Ugandan women's FIR to hush critics

Citing the case of three Ugandan women who sought help from the Delhi Government to protect them from the drug and sex racket, the Aam Aadmi Party on Tuesday defended its law Minister Somnath Bharti’s Khirki Extension midnight raid, which created a furor by various NGOs and women’s groups.

The party’s spokesperson Sanjay Singh demanded that the Delhi Police Commissioner should explain the action enforced by police. He said that the party will protest at Jantar Mantar on Wednesday demanding justice for the three African nationals, who were forced into the flesh trade.

The party also demanded that senior leaders with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) should explain their slanderous comments against AAP and their ‘racist’ slur on the party.

“The complaint lodged by the three Ugandan women on Monday with Delhi Police under Section 164 that they were tricked into the flesh trade and their passports were impounded is indicative of the repeated complaints made by the AAP and the residents of Khirki Extension that prostitution and drugs are indeed thriving in the area. The investigation by police was desired and the three girls have accused the police of being hand in glove,” Singh said, launching a vitriolic attack on Delhi Police.
