Skyrocketing cut-offs dash aspirants' hope

University of Delhi on Wednesday released the fourth cut-off list. Though many DU aspirants are still in the hope of getting admission in DU colleges the sky- rocketing cut-offs grounded many on the campus.Hindu College has pegged its fourth cut-off percentage for BA (Honours) Economics at 97 per cent. The college has closed admission for BA (Honours ) Sociology and BSC (Honours ) Botany. There was a very marginal drop of just one per cent in the fourth cut-off list much to aspirants’ dismay.

In SGTB Khalsa College, the cut-off percentage for BA (Honours) Economics is 96.75 per cent and for BA (Honours ) English 95.25. While in Gargi College, the cut-off percentage for Bcom (Honours) is 95.25 and for BCom (Pass), the cut- off is 94.25 per cent. Gargi has closed admissions for all humanities courses except BA (Honours) Political Science with cut-off percentage at 91 per cent. There is no scope for admissions in Science courses as all the seats have been occupied in Gargi College. 

In Miranda House college, the cut-off list percentage for BA (Honours ) in Economics is 96.25 per cent, for BA (Honours ) English, cut-off is 95.25 while for BA (Honours) Political Science , cut-off is 96. There is no scope of admissions in BA (Honours ) Geography, BA (Honours) Hindi , BA (Honours) History and BSc (Honours) life Sciences. 

The cut-off percentage at Shaheed Bhagat Singh College for BCom (Honours ) is 95.5 per cent while for BCom it is 95. In BA (Honours ) Economics, the cut-off percentage is 95.5 percent while for BA (Honours) English the cut-off percentage is 92.75. The college has closed the admissions for BA (Honours ) Geography, BA (Honours ) Hindi , BA (Honours ) History , BSc (Honours ) Mathematics , BA (Honours ) Political Science and for BA Programme. In Kirori Mal College, the cut-off percentage for BCom (Honours) is 96.50 percent while for BA (Honours ) Economics, cut-off percentage is 96.25. The college has closed the admission for BCom and BSc (Honours ) Physical Sciences. 

Ramanjuan College too has closed the admissions for BCom (Honours) and BCom. While the college set cut-off percentage for BA Programme, BA (Honours) English and BA (Honours) Political Science is 79, 88 and 85 per cent respectively.
