Sisodia slams BJP over doorstep ration delivery

Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Sunday criticised the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for not approving the launch of doorstep ration delivery, saying that the BJP is only interested in "abusing" Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, instead of preventing theft of ration in the country.

Addressing the media, Sisodia said, “It is beyond understanding that why is the Central Government protesting against the delivery of ration to households? If pizzas can be delivered at home then surely ration can be delivered too. The Delhi Government wants to ensure that each and every household has adequate staples for sustenance. The purpose is also to stop the black marketing of ration”

Slamming the BJP-led Central Government on their misplaced priorities in times of crisis, Sisodia said, “The BJP and its spokespersons like Sambit Patra claim that the process of ration distribution should remain the same. This clearly means that the BJP has no interest in eliminating the black marketing of ration in the nation.”

“I watched BJP spokesperson Patra’s Press conference. He did not mention the ration theft in the country and instead indulged in a tirade and an abusive attack on Arvind Kejriwal,” he said.

The BJP wants the ration theft to continue in the country and its leaders will "abuse" anyone who questions it like Patra did about Kejriwal, Sisodia said.

“They want the poor in our country to keep on suffering. The Congress stole from our poor for the last 70 years and now the BJP is doing the same thing and if someone tries to stop this, they have to hear reprehensible statements from the mouth of BJP leaders,” he added.

Delhi Government on Saturday had claimed that Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal has blocked its  ‘Doorstep Delivery of Ration’ scheme.
