BJP MP Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma on Sunday dragged Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao in the ongoing row over the now-scrapped Delhi excise policy, claiming his family members attended meetings on its formulation at a five-star hotel.
Addressing a Press conference along with Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Verma alleged that a bribe of crores of rupees were given to Manish Sisodia to increase the commission from 2.5 per cent to 12 per cent under the new liquor policy and the first instalment of the same was given to him. He further said Rs150 crore was given to Sisodia.
The BJP leader said several meetings were held between liquor mafia, ministers and officers to make the excise policy in line with them. “These meetings were held at the Oberoi Hotel. Between the liquor mafia and the Aam Aadmi Party Government, Telangana leader KCR's daughter K Kavita acted as a middleman and she had brought many members of the liquor mafia to meet Sisodia,” he said. Verma further added that KCR's family members got same the policy implemented in Punjab. They prepared a plan for Delhi along with Sisodia and Arvind Kejriwal. BJP MP said that Kejriwal and Sisodia should explain why the commission of liquor sellers was increased by 10 percent. “He should also explain the relationship between him, K Kavita and the members of the liquor mafia - Dinesh Arora, Vijay Nayar and Vijay Arora.
And by collecting money from all this, Aman Dhal used to do the work of giving it to the Aam Aadmi Party. Which has liquor contracts in Delhi as well as in Punjab,” Verma said.
Sirsa, while claiming solid evidence of corruption in liquor policy, said that he will soon reveal this evidence as to which other politicians are involved in this.
He said that along with the meetings at the Oberoi Hotel in Delhi, meetings of these liquor mafia were also held at the Hyatt Hotel in Chandigarh. After these meetings, AAP leaders implemented the same liquor policy in Delhi and Punjab which is already being followed in Telangana.
Reacting on a Look Out Circular issued against Sisodia, he said two accused in the excise policy "scam" case fled the country as soon as the CBI started probing the matter.
"The Look Out Circular has been issued to prevent others from fleeing," he said. He also alleged Sisodia and his wife spent around Rs 22 lakh on treatment at private hospitals between 2014 and 2021, not availing services of Government hospitals.
No immediate reaction was available from the Aam Aadmi Party.
