The Haryana Government has decided to create a single agency that will handle all the road projects in the State. The agency will also accept the complaints about damaged road across 22 districts in the State.
This step is being taken to avoid any confusion and delay of road construction work among the different agencies.
"Soon the constitutions of the single agency will be implemented in the entire 22 districts in the state. The all 22 districts will be distributed by the four agencies. One agency will build the entire district roads.
The benefits of constitute single authority in each district will not create any confusion with the jurisdictions the particular agency will be responsible for bad road constructions," an administration official on the condition anonymity said.
As of now, the four different departments are building road projects in the state like Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP), Municipal Corporation, Public Works Department (PWD) and Haryana State Industrial & Infrastructure Development (HSIIDC).
Recently, a meeting was held at Chandigarh between officials of the four departments who were asked to come up with a scheme for this. Under the new initiative, only one agency will be for responsible road construction and repair work in the district.
The officials of the department said different agencies create confusion among the citizens of the district. They don't know to whom they should complain about the filthy road conditions.
"The state government is keen to provide better road connectivity between the districts across in Haryana," the officer said. He further said if a single agency will build the entire district's road it will improve the work quality as well. The state government believes the policy will benefit not just Gurugram but other districts too.
"To ensure a necessary action on the complaints will take on a place the department head will keep a vigil eye on the complaints and their responsibilities will be fixed to complete the road repair work on time," he added.
