Simply plug in and pay for a DDA flat; track status online

Published on:

In a bid to simplify the arduous task of payment for conversion of properties from leasehold to freehold, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has introduced an online payment system. Owners of flats built by the authority will not only be able to track the status of their applications, but will also be allowed to pay their instalments and challans on its website.

“We have recently introduced the provision of e-stamping that is to be given with the documents of the property. The e-stamping will be accepted through the Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) mode on our website,” said a DDA official. This is the first time that the authority has introduced an online system for payment or financial transaction of any kind, added the official.

The move comes as the first step after DDA’s vice-chairman Balvinder Kumar, instructed the housing agency to make all kinds of transactions online within this year in order to improve transparency and efficiency. Sources suggest, the

authority has also roped in consultant Ernst & Young to study processes in all its departments and prepare a request for proposal document.

In addition, the DDA has also made the conversion of property to freehold easier by making a provision wherein owners of DDA flats and Group Housing Societies can check and reconcile payment details and status of pending application on its website www.dda.org.in.

“Applicants can access the details of payment either by entering their file number or challan number. In case of any discrepancy, one can submit through mail or in person at the special counters set up at Vikas Sadan, INA. Applicants can also opt for sending scanned copies of challans online, at the e-mail id phreconciliation@dda.org.in,” informed the official.
