The All-India Vaish Agarwal Samaj on Wednesday offered its wholehearted support to Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and to the Congress for the upcoming Assembly elections.
The decision was taken at the Maharaja Agarwal Jayanti Samaroh organised by the community at her residence.
“Dikshit has been following the ideals of Maharaja Agrasen and has been working overtime to ensure benefits for the poor and the underprivileged,” said BB Gupta, president of the Samaj.
“We are keen to ensure that she takes over as the Chief Minister for a fourth time to continue and accelerate the pace of development in the city,” Gupta added. He complimented the efforts of Dikshit in providing an atmosphere conducive to the enrichment of the trade.
“The Vat Department has been made trader-friendly and the traders have not been facing any harassment. The rules have been simplified and the Government has ensured prosperity in the city despite meager financial support from the centre and prevalent multiplicity of authorities,” they said.
