South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) Standing Committee on Thursday passed a resolution ensuring that local shopping complex coming in its areas will not be sealed due to non-payment of their conversion charge. Leader of the House Narendra Chawla said that the Corporation is concerned about the issue faced by owners of such properties hence decided to bring a resolution.
Chawla said that the move will provide a huge relief to the shopkeepers, traders, etc.
Member Standing Committee Shikha Rai, who moved the resolution in Standing Committee meeting said that the issue was brought in the SDMC House meeting in 2019 but the owners of such properties had some confusion.
"The shopkeepers and people engaged in commercial activities are already facing hardships due to Covid, hence the move will help them to carry on activities," she said.
