Police said that the arrested persons have been identified as Kamlesh Bansal (60), wife of a retired judge of consumer court, and her 30-year-old son Dhruv Bansal. “The arrest was made on Monday following a complaint lodged by the victim’s wife, Supriya, a resident of Saket. They have been released on bail after few hours of arrest,” a senior police officer said.
The compressor had been in the open for around five years and local residents had complained about it to the Power Company and civic agency as well. BSES officials had also inspected the AC unit, but did not find any current in the wires. “We are now probing the role of power officials, who had inspected the spot and did not find anything wrong,” the officer added. The victim was accompanied by his wife, three-year-old son and grandmother when the incident occurred. He had parked his car next to the gate of the A-22 complex in Green Park and took his grandmother to a nearby ATM outlet.
