Sheila urges traders to vote for Congress

While addressing traders of various trade associations, Delhi Congress president Sheila Dikshit said the party will address their problem in doing business smoothly in the national Capital.

She also appealed traders to vote for the Congress candidates in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections to get their problem addressed.

Addressing a delegation of traders, Congress Delhi unit chief said that soon the party will come to power; it will address all the problems including simplifying Goods and Services Tax (GST) to give great relief to the traders and businessmen.

Dikshit said that Delhi is known for its shops and business establishments as they are a vital limb of the Capital but the BJP Government at the Centre ruined the traders and business, particularly the small and medium traders, through introducing demonetisation and GST. She also hit out the ruling Aam Aadmi Party Government for doing nothing to save the traders when the sealing and demolition drive was unleashed on them.

“The Congress Government brought an ordinance to stop the sealing and demolition drive started in Delhi in 2006 and later, the UPA Government at the Centre made changes in the Master Plan to give great relief to the traders and businessmen in Delhi,” she said.

Dikshit said that BJP’s Modi Government did not implement the GST prepared by the Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre which was simple and would not have put great burden on the traders as the present GST has done, which has put an upper limit of  28 per cent.
