Former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit slammed the Arvind Kejriwal Government for not having any woman in the Delhi Cabinet.

“I myself am a woman and even then we used to have at least one woman Minister in our Cabinet. Kejriwal should also give due representation to women in his Cabinet.”

Also, Dikshit criticised the Government for the discontinuation of the girl child welfare schemes which her Government had started. “ladli scheme is in trouble, kishori scheme is also not working as it should. Women panchayats are not meeting. Crime against women has not come down. The employees of 181 women helpline are not paid for the past few months,” said Diskshit.

She slammed the Government for not proposing any scheme for girl child and women. While recalling her administrative duties and simultaneously maintaining family relations, Dikshit said, “People have spectacle that a women cannot handle any work properly, but once you prove yourself, you are would be remembered for years.”

When asked her view on women safety, Dikshit said as far as security of women is concerned, the main problem is with the mindset of society. “We need to empower women in all spheres of life,” she said.  Also, she appealed the people to respect women and to ensure women safety as their utmost priority.
