Sheila Dikshit is writing her own riveting story

Published on:

Former Delhi Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Sheila Dikshit is busy these days writing her autobiography that is expected to hit the stands by 2016.

Sources close to the former CM told The Pioneer that Dikshit's book will focus on her 15-year-old journey as the Delhi Chief Minister, her stint as Minister of State at Prime Minister Office during the Rajiv Gandhi era and other issues.

The book to be published by Bloomsbury Publishing House will not only have Dikshit's political journey but also tell the story of development of the capital city.

Dikshit was considered by many as the symbol of development for 15 years. She was instrumental in successfully organising the 2010 Commonwealth Games that changed the contour of the capital. There is no other politician of her stature, said sources.

A former Congress MlA said Dikshit is known for developmental agenda and she linked the development with politics in Delhi.

Dikshit's developmental agenda was later adopted by several States across the country, he added.   Dikshit's book is likely to highlight the rise of AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal, whose party routed the Congress in the Delhi Assembly elections. The sources said the book promises to be an interesting read and nobody needs to be scared.
