Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has been called for the second time for questioning in connection with the murder case of his wife Sunanda Pushkar, police said on Wednesday.

Delhi Police Commissioner BS Bassi told the media that Special Investigation Team (SIT) has summoned Tharoor and others to join the probe. Tharoor’s questioning will be done in the light of the new revelations and the statements of other persons, including Shiv Menon the son of Sunanda Pushkar. Menon was questioned by the SIT on February 5.

“Tharoor will be questioned tomorrow (Thursday). Some witnesses have also been called,” Bassi said. This will be the second round of questioning by the SIT officials in Pushkar murder case. According to police sources, the SIT officials want to corroborate the sequences before Pushkar’s death revealed by the people, including Tharoor and his other staff members during the first round of questioning after the registration of case on January 1.

As of now 20 people, including former Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh, senior journalists Rahul Kanwal and Nalini Singh have been questioned at Anti-Auto Theft Squad (AATS) in south Delhi’s Vasant Kunj. Tharoor’s personal staff and the security personnel have been questioned too. Narayan Singh the personal attendant of Sunanda was questioned twice by the SIT to ascertain the sequence of events on the fateful day.c
