Two persons have been arrested in the Capital over separate rape allegations.
In the first incident, a 31-year-old father was arrested for sexually abusing his five-year-old daughter in Central Delhi's Patel Nagar. The incident was reported to police on Tuesday evening by the victim's mother and the accused, Rakesh, was arrested on Wednesday.
The girl, in her statement to police, informed that she was being sexually abused by her father for the last one month. "The victim informed her mother about the incident last Friday. The victim's mother then approached the police along with her family members," the officer added.
In the other incident, a 24-year-old auditor working with the Principal Accountant General (Audit) in Himachal Pradesh was arrested for allegedly establishing sexual relations with a girl after promising to marry her. The arrest was made in North West's Mukherjee Nagar. He was booked under Sections 376 (rape) and 313 (causing miscarriage without woman's consent) of the IPC. The accused has been identified as Sudhir. "The arrest was made on the complaint lodged by the civil services aspirant. She told the police about the marriage vow and the sexual relationship between them. Based on her complaint, a case was registered and the accused was arrested," a senior police officer said.
