A 36-year-old NRI woman was allegedly stalked and harassed by the security guard of her colony in South Delhi’s Malviya Nagar area. The complainant, who lives in Australia, said she has come for a visit to home. The incident came to light after she called up the Delhi Police’s recently re-launched foreigners’ helpline on Wednesday and reported the matter. The accused, identified as Pintu, has been arrested under relevant sections of IPC, a police official said.
The complainant told the police that the security guard often used to follow her home in the evenings and on a few occasions he even tried to touch her on the pretext of helping her in closing the main gate of her house, he said. So far, the helpline — which was relaunched earlier this week following a series of attacks on people from African countries living in the city —has received over 10 calls on which action has been taken, he added.
