Continuing sealing drive, building department of the North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NMC) sealed 21 units in Mall Road, Kingsway Camp and Pitampura.
A senior NMC official said action was taken on the direction of the Supreme Court Appointed Monitoring Committee. "The Civil lines Zone sealed 15 units in 10 properties for misusing laid down norms. Six properties were also sealed for the same reason in Pitampura," he said.
Meanwhile, sealing action was not undertaken in areas of the South and East Corporations because of unavailability of the Police force.
"There is no need for sending any prior notice just before the action in that case," the official said. The SC-appointed Monitoring Committee, which was revived on December 15 last year, has three members including former adviser to the Election Commission KJ Rao, Chairman of Environment Pollution (Prevention & Control) Authority (EPCA) Bhure lal and Major General (retd) Som Jhingan.
