Sealing: Cong launches Nyay Yudh to highlight AAP, BJP apathy in city

With 2019 Lok Sabha elections less than a year away, Delhi Congress launched a programme called “Nyay Yudh” (Fight for Justice) at Gandhi Nagar on Wednesday, highlighting the apathy of  both the Aam Aadmi Party  (AAP)  led Delhi Government and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ruled  municipal corporations to stop illegal sealing of non- polluting household industries in the national Capital.

The party also adopted three resolutions moved by Arvinder Singh Lovely against the illegal sealing. The resolutions strongly condemned the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) and Delhi Government for not protecting non-polluting household industries in Delhi despite these industries having protected in the Master Plan- 2021.

Senior party leader Arvinder Singh Lovely, who represented Gandhi Nagar assembly seat four times, while addressing the affected people said, “According to the Master Plan 2021, Para 7.3 residential areas and villages (abadi) A+AI has been allowed to run household units. A list of 121 items have been included in the list of household industries which are non- polluting and having legal cover to be functional but these units are also being sealed, he said.

The resolution also demanded from both the BJP and AAP to change the definition of household industries by amending it from 5 employees to 11 employees, and from 5kv power to 11kv power so that the sword of sealing hanging over these units could be removed.

Delhi Congress president Ajay Maken said that the AAP is determined to seal the household industries to benefit some section of people.  Terming the sealing is an emotional issue; he said that over 8 lakh people have been rendered jobless due to illegal sealing in Delhi.

Maken said that both the government keeps busy in “mock fights” in order to fool the people and divert attention. “When it comes to provide relief to the non-polluting small industrial units and traders, the AAP Government also backs out to save its own skin,” he said.

Under the programme “Nyay Yudh”, the senior party leaders and prominent faces including party president Ajay Maken, Arvinder Singh Lovely, Dr A KWalia, Haroon Yusuf, Dr Narendra Nath and Mukesh Sharma will be holding a series of public meetings would be held in sealing drive-affected areas.
