South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) Mayor Anamika said the civic body has decided to upgrade the online education with the support of Doordarshan Channel.
The education department of SDMC is encouraging the parents to watch Swayam Prabha Channel and download its app for better e-learning of the students, she said, adding that the corporation's teachers are in constant touch with the parents and students and will send the time table and schedule of these programmes.
These educational programme of this channel aims to provide tutorials, clear concepts and impart knowledge to students and thematic pictographic video learning programmes for junior section classes
Anamika said that those students who do not have facilities like smartphones, tablets or laptops will be benefited by this channel at large. “Through the Swayam Prabha channel, students can study regularly at their home during this lockdown period and can get benefitted of the one hour long subject-wise classes specially designed with the help of teachers aided by the United Nations Children's Fund,” she said.
The special educational lectures designed for students from class 1 to 5 with special slots allotted for each class through video and thematic lectures, she added.
Mayor said that in order to ensure continuance of study of the students during this crisis, the corporation is ready to assist the parents in every possible way.
She directed all the concerned teachers to keep in touch with their students over the phone and keep them motivated for online education. Apart from this, SDMC is providing all necessary books, note copies and other stationary items to the students for e –learning, she said.
