SDMC Commissioner Gyanesh Bharti said that the premium amount of Rs330 per person will be deposited annually by the civic body. “The employees need to fill only requisite form and submit the same to the concerned department, which will complete the necessary formalities,” he said.

The Commissioner further said that under this scheme, employees will have to pay nothing to get its benefit. SDMC also asked these banks to explore reasonable health insurance schemes also for these employees, he said.

He said that after considering all other affordable health insurance schemes, we will implement them in future for the betterment of the employees.

With the move, about 14000 contractual and daily wagers will be covered under the insurance scheme.
