The surprise inspection of the Chhattarpur main road and Chattarpur enclave pursuant to the orders of Delhi high court, noticed that the area is abounded with large scale unauthorized constructions. The inspection was conducted by Additional Commissioner Dr Dilraj Kaur and deputy Commissioner (South Zone) SK Singh.
Officials also found numbers of glaring instances of massive unauthorized constructions were also noticed and the same were taking place in the absence of statutory actions, following which the action was initiated.
One executive engineer (building) Ashok Kumar, assistant engineer SK Jain and junior engineer BM Sharma have been suspended pending inquiry and they may face suitable penalty accordingly," the official said.
A senior Corporation official said that during the inspection, it was observed that the field staff has failed in its duty to detect the ongoing unauthorized constructions and nip them in the bud. "To enforce the law of land it was felt necessary that the responsibility be fixed and the officers concerned taken to the task keeping in view the severity of the prevailing situation and failure of the zonal enforcement machinery," he said.
