The Standing Committee of South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) on Friday decided to reduce composition fee and other charges in respect of article seized during encroachment drive.
A senior SDMC official said that overall 60 to 80 percent reduction has been granted. “In case of hawkers and squatters the composition charge has been reduced from Rs1500 to Rs 600. For shopkeepers, it has been brought down from Rs3000 to Rs1000. The composition charge on transport companies, timber merchants and heavy machinery dealers has been reduced from Rs15000 to Rs10000,” he said.
The official further said that the composition charge on workshop repair of cars has been reduced from the present Rs7500 to Rs3000.
