Delhi Police on Friday busted a major fake admission racket flourishing in some of the topmost private schools in the national Capital where admissions under seats reserved for the economically weaker sections (EWS) were given on the basis of fake or forged certificates. “Over 13 such cases have come in notice and six FIRs have been filed yet,” said a police official, adding that income and caste certificates recovered from the schools have also been sent for verification and a probe has also been ordered to check other schools. Meanwhile, South Delhi District Magistrate Niharika Rai has ordered the South Delhi Deputy Director Education to ask the schools to provide documents to DM’s office of those children who have applied under EWS category this academic session to verify the genuineness of proofs associated with the application such as income certificates.
