Satyendra Jain inaugurates motorable road in Raja Vihar

Delhi’s Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Satyendra Jain inaugurated a motorable road and laid the foundation stone for a sewer line in Raja Vihar, a locality of 30,000 people in Rohini.

So far, residents of the area did not have a motorable road on which big vehicles like water tankers or ambulances could reach residents. The reason for this, according to Delhi government officers, was that in 2008, the key stretch of land was handed over to a private owner through some registry. Jain said, both the Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs) then were from the  Bharatiya Janata Party.

“The land was bought back by the Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation through Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB). The former owner of the land was compensated by the Government of NCT of Delhi with three plots of land in Bawana. The handing out of key public lands can make life miserable for local residents.”

Targeting BJP MLA Vijender Gupta, Jain gave an example of crow and bird in which bird does hard work, but in the end, crow comes and claims credit for having prepared the food. “The locals shared that Vijender Gupta has hosted grand inauguration ceremonies to mark the launch of the roads and sewer lines that the AAP-led government of NCT of Delhi has laid down. “The BJP can come and claim credit but the people of Delhi are smart enough to know who is doing their work,” said the minister.

He further added that the Delhi Government has done all the work from sewer lines to roads. He said, “We have taken the initiative but they want to claim it.

They think they can fool the people but people are smart enough. I think this fake publicity of work is good as people then ask questions and they don’t have the answers. People ask why only after Kejriwal ji came to power the issues have come up and then they realise that indeed the AAP Government has done the work.”

The minister also laid the foundation stone of the sewer pumping station in Raja Vihar through which the sewer line of the area will be connected to the sewer line in Rithala. This will greatly solve drainage problems in the area.
