In order to reach out to the people of Noida and Greater Noida, the Regional Transport Office (RTO) of Gautam Budh Nagar has decided to join the social networking site Facebook.

The department took the decision to provide necessary information about its initiatives, new plans and also to create awareness about the traffic rules.

The separate page of the RTO Department is expected to be operational from the end of this week.

The page will contain all details about the department and its working. Details about vehicle-check drives and number of prosecutions in the cases of traffic violations will also be updated on the page regularly. Details regarding permit of commercial vehicles on various routes and guidelines for applying smart driving licences will also be available on the social site.

A senior official of RTO said that the decision to set up a page on Facebook was taken so the people could access all kinds of information regarding day-to-day working of the department without approaching the department’s office physically.

“As the number people concerned with the RTO is increasing by the day, we have planned to reach majority of the people through the social networking site. The move will also help in bringing transparency in the system and will enhance the working capacity of the employees of the department,” said Rachna Yaduvanshi, Additional RTO of Gautam Budh Nagar.
