Noida authority on Saturday said the Noida Rail Metro Corporation (NMRC) has planned to make the outer view of metro track colourful along 30-km-long stretch between Noida and Greater Noida. It would be the first experiment in Noida among all metro routes of NCR.
The civil work on this project is on a fast track and about 40 per cent construction work has been completed.
The DMRC on Saturday claimed that it has put up the first 2 kilometers track with placing girders and pliers.
Noida Authority Deputy Chief Executive Officer Saumya Srivastav said the DMRC has been given target to complete the project at the end of 2017 anyhow.
“NOIDA is satisfied with the pace of work started from May last year. Six cranes have been deployed to make the work progress at a fast pace. Till now, out of a total 1,800 U-girders, 180 U-girders have been guard. Meanwhile, 400 pillars have been placed. With combination of both, 2-km of metro track is completed on this track. Out of 21 stations, piling work has been completed at 19,” said DCEO.
“DMRC engineers on Friday informed NMRC (Noida Metro Rail Corporation) that they are placing 12 girders in 24 hours that build 152 meters viaduct as comparison to eight in earlier project. Concourse casting has also been completed at seven stations and platforms will be cast next,” DCEO further said.
Noida authority official said they have been discussing with DMRC officials to make the outer view of the metro track colorful. “Due to leakage and possibilities of ugliness, the NMRC planned to protect concrete build girders and pliers with colourful plastic paints. It will look beautiful from outside. This will be first ever experiment on Noida-Greater Noida metro track in NCR. It is being implementing in Mumbai. DMRC is expected Rs5 crore budget for this additional work. NMRC is ready for this.” said DCEO, Saumya Srivastav.
The three authorities, DMRC and Noida and Greater Noida authorities had signed a MoU Rs5,533 crore in October 2014 to construct metro lines to connect Noida-Greater Noida to Delhi and Gurgon.
