Six armed assailants robbed Rs15 lakh from a cash collection van on Ravidas Marg in Central Delhi on Thursday afternoon. Preliminary investigation revealed that the incident occurred around 12.05 pm when the robbers first intercepted the cash van, owned by the CMS cash collection company, in their sedan. “At the same time, two other accused riding a motorbike joined them. They looted Rs15 lakh from the van and decamped in their car,” a senior police officer said, adding that the custodians and the guard of the van were also beaten up when they tried to resist the robbery attempt. Police said that the accused left their bike at the spot and escaped in the sedan.
