Even as the multi-crore investment at Dalit Prerna Sthal in Noida remains to be put to public use, Noida Authority is ready with another plan for the sprawling park. The Authority is planning to construct a two-level underground car park at Dalit Prerna Sthal for an estimated Rs 25 crore. The proposed parking lot will have the capacity to accommodate 200 vehicles.
Construction work is likely to start from next month; the entire work is expected to be completed in six months. Once operational, the car lot will be available to residents of nearby areas and not just visitors to the park.
The areas surrounding the park include Sectors 14A, 15A, 16, 95 and Film City. Noida Authority officials also plan to increase capacity of the parking lot in future.
A senior official of Noida Authority said that the decision was taken keeping in view the parking mess in the city.
Feasibility report and Detailed Project Report (DPR) have already been conducted by officials of Work Circle-IX. Construction work will be carried out by Uttar Pradesh Rajkiya Nirman Nigam (UPRNN), the same body that constructed the park and is responsible for its upkeep and maintenance.
The proposed parking lot will be the fourth underground parking project announced by Noida Authority in the past one year.
Three other parking lots are under construction at Sectors 18 and 46 and near the Botanical Garden Metro Station. These projects are being completed under the aegis of the Master Plan 2021.
