Students of Delhi University may boycott classes at en masse on Friday to demand a complete rollback of the Four Year Undergraduate Program (FYUP) that was introduced last year. The various students unions have appealed to the students to not attend a single class the entire day to send a strong message to the Central Government and DU administration that the course is anti-education and must be rolled back.

Disenchanted with the new foundation course, students have decided to join the protest against the FYUP which has been organised by various organisations.

“We are boycotting classes on Friday to protest against the FYUP. It’s a completely rubbish course which is a waste of time. Three-year degree program should be restored as soon as possible,” said Rohit, a first year Eco Honours student from Hindu College.

The students unions have together appealed to the students of Delhi University to “boycott their classes to send a clear signal to the DU administration and the UPA that the anti-student and anti-education FYUP needs to be rolled back.”  “With one semester passed in the new system, the worst apprehensions of students and teachers have been proved right. said Sunand, member of the national executive committee of SFI.
